Once this is done, an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent on your registered mobile number. Enter it in the space provided and click on “Set Password” tab at the bottom of the page.

After you have registered for the OTP, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number.

In case you have not enrolled for a UAN and have enrolled for the OTP only, the same can be done from your mobile phone by sending SMS ‘PASSWORD’ to 1950. Alternatively, you can also call on 139 in case you do not want to use your mobile handsets.

It is important to note that if someone tries hacking into EPFO’s database through a computer or laptop then they would need an internet connection as well as an active SIM card on their device. So, if these conditions are met by any hacker then they could easily change their password using this method.
